Victory Laps

Winter just won't quit this year.  That may be nice for the polar bears and the midwest drought, but not for my confidence on the bike.  I signed up for Leadman Tempe in April and really needed some time on the road.  Now, I'll ride outside in the winter and have several times this year (my max is 38* though) BUT there comes a time when enough is enough.  Soooo, since I am flexible to schedule my travel at work, I scheduled 2 'trips' to Texas back to back and sandwiched some bike 'camp' time in between and a little after.

5 days THE NUMBERS

~85* - highest ride temp
~55* - lowest ride temp
1 sunburn
1 rest day
3 wedge salads (what's the deal with these down south?  Soooo good!!!)
~192 miles on the bike
1 long group ride without getting lost in TX
3 hours run
23 laps around the Texas Motor Speedway (TMS) (a 5 mile LOOP)
115 miles on Victory Parkway (TMS)
1 car show @ TMS (and no, we didn't know where it was)
2 horror stories of how brutal IMTX is
18 SBR hours
1 night of 10+ hours sleep
2 hours swim
2 Kelly's
1 daydream that a NASCAR driver will land his helicopter and ask to ride his bike with me (there are a few triathletes in that group)

I have one run left in the morning and I head back north.  Stoked to have gotten these miles under my belt, it's a total confidence booster heading into Leadman (this is a big block for me ;)).  As much as I love the weather here, I miss my hubby and pup and am ready to get home!
