Getting in the Holiday Spirit

Since I'm obsessed really into the triathlon world, I tend to miss out on exciting things going on in the running community.  Since that's the community I came from I thought it would be a good idea to catch up.  I've found some wonderful blogs that have gotten me up to speed.  Being sick on the couch during my vacation, er, staycation, I've had plenty of time to read up.

Operation Jack Marathon - Have you heard about this?  What a cool idea.  This guy ran 61 marathons in 2010 to raise $$ for autism.   Too bad I was late finding this as they had satellite runs December 26th.  HOWEVER...some as*holes in Houston decided that a charity run was not a good idea, especially the day after Christmas.  You can read all about it on this super fun blog here.  Spreading the joy of Christmas Cheer. :)

Training Update - Not much has gone on this week as I started feeling crappy Monday.  But, I've managed to swim x 2 = 5300 yds, run x 1hr., bike x 1 @ 1:15.  I'm taking a rest today and hoping to get back in action with a swim and bike tomorrow.  Saturday is the annual New Years Eve 13.1 run and Sunday morning is the 100 x 100 with the masters crew!  Here's to a speedy recovery!  Speaking of training while being sick, here is a really great blog post from Hillary Biscay, that was posted yesterday.  I'm sure just for me.  :)  It inspired me get on the 'ol bike yesterday!

Happy Holidays!
